TUNESMITH TUESDAY - "Pretty Irish Girl"

Pretty Irish Girl is a song from Disney's 1959 movie, Darby O'Gill and the Little People. It was sung by Michael MacBride (Sean Connery). However, it was later sung two more times by Michael, Darby O'Gill (Albert Sharpe), and Katie O'Gill (Janet Munro). The first was sung by Michael when he was cutting the grass, the second was sung by Katie when she was getting ready to go out for a dance at night, and the third was sung by her, Michael, and Darby at the end of the movie.

Betcha didn't know James Bond could SING, didja?

Lyrics to "Pretty Irish Girl"

Have you ever
seen the sea gulls
A-flyin' o'er the heather
Or the crimson sails
in Galway Bay
The fishermen unfurl

Oh, the earth is filled with beauty
And it's gathered all together
In the form and face
and dainty grace
Of a pretty Irish girl

Oh, she is my dear
my darlin' one
Her eyes so sparklin'
full of fun

No other, no other
can match the likes of her

She is my dear
my darlin' one
My smilin' and beguilin' one

I love the ground she walks upon
My darling Irish girl
