The Church Bell Ringer

A church's bell ringer passed away.

So they posted the position and a man came in with no arms wanting the job. The clergy weren't sure he could do it, but he convinced them to let him try it. They climbed the bell tower and the guy ran toward the bell and hit it with his head. They gave him the job.

The next day he went to ring the bell, tripped, bounced off the bell and fell to the sidewalk below.

Two guys were walking past. One asked, "Do you know this guy?"

The second guy responded, "No, but his face rings a bell."

  1. As luck would have it, there was a big wedding scheduled for that afternoon, to be officiated by the Cardinal. The priests were in a panic about who would ring the bell when a man stepped forward and said, " The dead man is my brother. To preserve our family honor, I will ring the bell." H was led up to the belfry and, at the appropriate time, began to ring the bell. However, during the process, his inexperience caused him to get in the way of the bell, which struck him and sent him over the edge and down to the ground below. As a crowd gathered around his body, someone remarked that they didn't even know his name. One person remarked, "I don't know who he was but he was a dead ringer for his brother."
