Two brothers have developed differences between them, and thus, have decided to part ways. The problem is that they have one big, irregularly-shaped land tract. Both brothers want an equal share, which is nearly impossible due to its odd shape.
The wisest man in the village (most likely a dad) is called to find a way in which both brothers will be happy, even though the land might not be divided into exactly equal halves.
What was his suggestion?
Give up?
(a quitter never wins, and a winner never quits...)

He simply suggested that one of the brothers would be allowed to divide the land, but the other gets first choice.
SKIPNOTE: This is exactly the method I used when my two sons were little and had one candy bar to share. One would cut it in half, and the other got first pick
