According to Deadline Hollywood (and confirmed by the lady herself), my friend Katrina Law has been cast opposite Bill Paxton in Training Day, a new pilot for CBS, based on a present-day reimagining of Antoine Fuqua's acclaimed 2001 movie.
Set 15 years after the film left off, the TV show centers on an idealistic young police officer, Kyle Craig, who has been appointed to an elite LAPD squad and partnered with seasoned, morally ambiguous detective Frank Rourke (Paxton).
Katrina plays the part of Rebecca Lee, a detective with LAPD's Special Investigation Section. Her backstory is that she was rescued from human traffickers by Paxton when she was 4 years old, and looks up to him as the father she never had.
Katrina also has a recurring role on the CW's Arrow as Nyssa al Ghul, daughter of the notorious leader of the League of Assassins, Ra's al Ghul.
Way to go, Juice!
