Doc Brown BEFORE the drugs...

WAY-Y-Y-Y back before he was Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, Christopher Lloyd made his bones in a TV series called "Taxi," that ran from 1978 through 1982. He played the drug-addled, burned-out (Reverend) Jim Ignatowski, who lived in a world all his own. (His last name was originally Caldwell, but he had it changed to Ignatowski, thinking that it was the backward pronunciation of "Star Child")

This clip tells how Reverend Jim got that way.

By the way, the totally stoned roomie is the first post-Bosom Buddies appearance by Tom Hanks.

Enjoy.
