Ingraham High School Class of '68 - 50th Reunion

This past weekend, I had the amazing experience of celebrating our 50th reunion with the Class of 1968 at Ingraham High School in Seattle.

On Friday, we took a tour of the school, and we all posed for a group photo

After the tour, we adjourned to a local burger joint to fuel up for a football game later that night
(Ingraham 32, Mountlake Terrace 14)

Along the way, I was able to connect (again) with Spock, the Glorious Bastard (John Keeney), my dive buddy for over 50 years

Saturday night was the Reunion, itself. We held it at the Sand Point Country Club, and the venue was amazing

For some inexplicable reason, I was the emcee. Go figure.

Posing with my date for the Senior Prom, Marilyn Blasing Wirtz! What a beauty!

With two great friends, Susan Arnold and Liz Rodosovich

And clowning around with Chris Gronvold Clawson

Spock the Glorious Bastard (aka the redoubtable John Malcolm Frederick Keeney) was our Senior Class President, and had some words of wisdom for the assembled troops

Dinner was delicious, and reconnecting with everyone was a hoot!

One somber note of the evening was the Memorial to our classmates who've passed away.

THEN, on Sunday, we had a (somewhat) impromptu picnic at Carkeek Park.

The effervescent Lina Donahue Morrison provided the ram horns...

And there was PLENTY of food to go around
Elaine Wedman Farmer and Melanie Jensen Veasey. Since our 30th Reunion, Melanie has been the spearhead getting all of these things together. Yeah, it was a group effort, but Melanie was absolutely the cornerstone.

And, finally, the cake (which someone stole a piece from before I could take the picture)

All in all, an amazing experience. I got to reconnect with several people I hadn't seen in years, and everyone seemed to have a great time.

A ton of thanks to Melanie Jensen Veasey and the Reunion Committee, along with Reunions With Class, who organized this whole thing. You guys are amazing!

Now, we start planning for our 55th in September of 2023!
