Salad or Sandwich? (or, "The Joys of Self-Quarantining")

NOTE: I originally wasn't going to post this until I got into a discussion with mine.

A portion of said discussion:

"...for example, a cookie would be a sandwich, but fried rice would be a salad"

"No, fried rice would be a sandwich."

"What are you talking about? Fried rice is a mixture of ingredients"

"Rice is the bread. It's a sandwich."

"Okay, then what about a taco 'salad'?"

"That's a salad."
