Candace Bergen Can't Sing. And when she does, it's GREAT!

Let's get one thing straight right off the bat... Candace Bergen cannot sing.  She's tone deaf, and wouldn't be able to carry a tune in a bucket with both hands. That's common knowledge. Everyone knows it.

But when she DOES sing, it absolutely cracks me up.

The first time I ever heard her was in the 1979 comedy "Starting Over." In the opening scene, Burt Reynolds is her distraught, soon-to-be ex-husband who is moving out. What follows makes my ears bleed.

Flash forward to 1991. Bergen has a hit TV show called Murphy Brown, and the writers decided to have a little fun with Candace's real-life, all-too-public adulation of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

At first, Aretha won't let her sing... but it's tearing her up, so she finally lets her join in. This is gonna make you smile...
