Saturday at Casino Point
As I've mentioned before, Casino Point (more accurately, the Avalon Dive Park) in Catalina is an amazing place to scuba. Yesterday, the water temperature was 68 degrees and there was visibility of 60'.
There was a bit of a current (as you can tell by the way the kelp is pointing...), but we had two amazing dives.
We saw three (count 'em, three) Giant Sea Bass (but only got videos of two)
We also saw the Jacques Cousteau Memorial Plaque, which was installed at Casino Point in October, 1997
To give you an idea of what 22 years underwater can do, here's a picture of what the plaque looked like right after it was installed, alongside a screenshot of the video above (shot yesterday).
